始建于1892年的无锡市天主教堂，曾经是江苏省内屈指可数的大教堂之一，仅钟塔占地就有300m2，钟塔高20m。但教堂在文革中被拆毁。近年来，市政府决定在位于太湖之滨的贡湖湾湿地中重新建造一天主教堂。

Built in 1892, Wuxi catholic church was once one of the most numerous cathedrals in Jiangsu province. The bell tower occupies 300 square meters and is 20 meters high. But the church was demolished during the cultural revolution. In recent years, the municipal government has decided to rebuild a Catholic church in the Gonghu Bay Wetland on the banks of Taihu Lake.

整个贡湖湾湿地由多义景观设计。多义景观将教堂与外围的湿地环境设计成一个整体，使教堂具有合理的外部功能，优美的景致和深远的视景线。

The entire Gonghu Bay Wetland was designed by Atelier DYJG. The atelier determines to design the church and the surrounding wetland environment as a whole, to provide the church reasonable external functions, beautiful scenery and far-reaching visual lines.

教堂建筑面积约3500m2，有主堂和副堂、办公、接待、客房、服务等功能。建筑采用教堂+修道院群体布置模式，拉丁十字式平面，巴西利卡式室内空间。建筑造型质朴，具有乡村教堂的气息。

The building area of the church takes about 3500 square meters, with main hall and auxiliary hall, which has the functions of office, reception, guest room and service. The building adopts a“church + convent” group arrangement mode, latin cross plane, basilica style interior space. The architecture is simple and rustic.

教堂将成为无锡太湖湖畔的重要景观标志。

The church will be an important landmark along the Taihu Lake in Wuxi.
