广场西部是古老的城墙与城门，东部则为现代化的商业建筑，这些建筑体形变化与广场紧密地连接在一起，室内外互相穿插，建筑的屋顶或平台都成为广场的有机组成部分。建筑中还设计了一个高大的门形立方体建筑，象征着阳城的新城门，与古建筑的东门在形式上一新一旧，形成强烈的视觉对比。每当日出之时，站在古老的东门上，看见朝霞透过新城门撒向整个广场，更能烘托出阳城这一阳光之城的含义。

There are old walls and gates on the west, and modern commercial buildings on the east of the Plaza, which vary closely linked to the plaza in shape, interwoven indoors and out, and the roofs or podiums of which become integral parts of the plaza. There is a tall gate-shaped cube building designed in the plaza, symbolizing the new gate of Yangcheng, and the east gate create a strong visual contrast in the form of new and old. When the sun rises, standing on the old east gate, enjoining the sunrise through the new gate scattered across the plaza, the meaning of the city of sunshine can be truly understood.
